Registration for Chatham Youth Hockey’s 2016/2017 Season is now open on our website. CYH programs for 2016/17 will offer developmental programs for Mini-mite (2010 and younger) as well as for older players new to hockey (birth years 2006-2009). Additionally, CYH will again play competitive games in the MCYHL for Mites & Squirts, and in the Aspen Middle School League for Middle School (6th, 7th, 8th Grade) players. Chatham Hockey registration options for this year are as follows:
MCYHL Games Only (Mite & Squirt): CYH rosters Mite & Squirt teams in the Morris County Youth Hockey League at Mennen Arena which play 1 game most weekends for 18 weeks followed by a season-end Jamboree for Mites and playoffs for Squirts (if qualified). To register to play games only in the MCYHL, your player must be registered, practicing and playing with a travel hockey club in the area.
Learn-to-Play Hockey / Mini-mite: This option is for 2010 birth year and younger skaters who have previously learned to ice skate but typically have 1 year or less of experience playing hockey. We will be partnering with the Union Sports Arena Mite Development League for this option. This option will typically involve 2 ice slots per week, with at least one skate on the weekend involving cross-ice games organized by the Union rink. The season will run from early October to early March.
Middle School Teams:CHC will roster one or two teams in the Aspen Ice (Randolph) Middle School League depending on the level of registration from middle school players. The team will be coached by Brandon Herr, CHS Men's Varsity Head Coach, and his assistants. An evaluation skate will be held for all registered players on Monday October 10th, 2016 at 5:45PM at Mennen. Games begin October 15, 2016.
Volunteers and Coaches Needed: When registering, please consider also volunteering as a Birth Year Parent Coordinator. Active parent participation is a foundation of Chatham Youth Hockey. Additionally, while we have a core group of coaches lined up for the different teams for the coming season, if you have experience on the ice and an interest in coaching, we can always use help and can tailor commitments based on the time you have available. USA Hockey registration and coaching certification is required, but can be completed by 12/31/2016. If you are willing to volunteer or coach, please contact us at
